- Convocation and Assembly
Due to COVID-19, Kettering College is not holding our regular Convocation and Assembly gatherings for the fall semester.
Convocation and Campus Assembly
The College plans several events each year for students, faculty, and staff to worship and gather together. College offices are closed so that College faculty, staff, and administration may also attend.
Convocation:
Convocation gathers the entire campus community at the Kettering Adventist Church across the street from the campus for a ceremony that includes academic pageantry. This event happens at the beginning of fall semester to start the school year. Attendance is mandatory for all students. Online students are invited, but not required to attend. Clinical schedules are adjusted so that everyone can attend. Convocation is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m.
NOTE: There is a $25.00 charge for not attending Convocation if you are required to attend. If you need to be exempt for special reasons, please submit the exemption form below to the office of the Dean of Student Success.
Assembly:
Assembly exists to celebrate our school family and rally around our identity as a faith-based institution. It’s a time for playing, growing, worshipping, and learning as a school desiring to experience the life that Jesus has in mind for us. Attendance is mandatory for all students. Online students are invited, but not required to attend.
Assembly is always the first Tuesday of the month from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. and takes place at the Kettering Adventist Church.
Note: Assembly occurs each month during the fall and winter semesters. If an exemption is needed because of a conflict in schedule, please submit the exemption form below to the office of the Dean of Student Success.
Examples of exemptions include:
- students with clinical requirements in their academic program
- students who work during this time
