What is your accreditation status?
The entry-level occupational therapy doctoral degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 6116 Executive Boulevard, Suite 200, North Bethesda, MD 20852-4929. ACOTE’s telephone number c/o AOTA is (301) 652-AOTA and its web address is www.acoteonline.org. Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). In addition, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
-
Do you require the GRE?
At this time, we do not require the GRE.
-
Do you require observation hours?
Typically, twenty (20) hours observation of an occupational therapist is required. Evidence of a current OTA license can be substituted for the observation hours.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the observation hours requirement has been waived for the 2022-2023 admission cycle. However, we encourage you to complete observation hours if you are able to. The purpose of OT observation hours is to explore the field of OT as a profession and to help ensure that this is the right career for you.

Do you have a rolling admissions process?
A rolling admissions process will be used to extend early program offers between September 7, 2022 and January 31, 2023.
- New completed applications will be reviewed monthly
- Candidates who receive or exceed a predetermined minimum score will automatically receive an offer until all available positions within the program have been filled.
- Candidates who receive lower than the predetermined minimum score or apply after the cohort is full will be placed on the Wait List.
- Due to the rolling admissions process, all available seats in the program could be filled prior to February 1, 2023, therefore candidates are encouraged to apply early.
- Candidates may be considered from the time of application until the close of the application cycle on April 30, 2023.
If on February 1, 2023, all the positions within the program have not been filled, the remaining candidates will be ranked from highest score to lowest score. Positions in the program will then be offered to the highest scoring candidate(s). As new applications are verified and reviewed, the Admissions Counselor will add the candidate(s) to an internally maintained waitlist, placed in the appropriate sequence relative to the other candidates based on the total OTCAS score.
Applicants accepting the offers will be required to submit a time-sensitive formal written acceptance and a $500 non-refundable deposit. The $500 will be applied to the first semester’s tuition.
