The Kettering College Story

Located on a suburban campus near Dayton, Ohio, Kettering College is a coed college offering certificate programs, two-year associate of science degrees, bachelor degrees, a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, and an Occupational Therapy Doctorate.

The college and its owner, Kettering Medical Center, were founded by Eugene W. Kettering, son of inventor Charles F. Kettering, and his wife Virginia W. Kettering. He donated 35 acres of family property for the medical center and a future college.

In 1967, more than 100 students enrolled as the college’s first freshman class.  Today we have more than 800 students who intend to make a better world through the healing of others.  The college is chartered by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Our goal is to help our students do their absolute best while they are with us.  Everything about Kettering College is meant to support an enjoyable, productive, and mission-based learning experience.  Here students experience personal and professional growth in a challenging educational setting.

“It must be an educational center as well as a medical service center, involved in preparing young people for satisfying lives of service here and in other institutions of the world.”

– Eugene Kettering
