Staff Changes Announced at Kettering College

Kettering, Ohio (June 3) –Amy Moretta has been named director of alumni affairs and job placement, and Jerry Mahn is the new director of student life and residence hall at Kettering College, announced college administration on Friday. Both will begin their new roles on July 1.Moretta has been on staff at Kettering College since 1999 as the director of student life and residence hall. In her new role, she will oversee the Kettering College Alumni Association and also will assist students as they search for employment. The job placement component of the position is a new service being offered by Kettering College to its students and alumni.

Moretta came to Kettering after serving as dean of women at Blue Mountain Academy in Hamburg, Pa., during 1999. From 1995-99, Moretta was director of Parents Supporting Parents at Community Prevention Partnership. She earned her bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology in 1990 from Columbia Union College (now Washington Adventist University) in Takoma Park, Md. Moretta will finish her master’s in community counseling at the University of Dayton in August.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the Kettering College alumni. It allows me to connect with present and past students and to deepen the relationships that were established while I served as the director of student life and residence hall,” said Moretta, who is an elder at Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church. “I also look forward to networking with employers on behalf of our students to help facilitate the transition into their professional careers.”Jerry Mahn just completed his second year as associate director of student life and residence hall at Kettering College. He also is a minister of music at Kettering Adventist Church.

Mahn came to Kettering College from Hamilton Community Church in Chattanooga, Tenn., where he had spent two years as worship pastor. Mahn earned his bachelor’s degree in religion and ministry of music from Southwestern Adventist College in 1990 and went on to receive a master’s in divinity from Andrews University in 1995 and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Adventist University in 2006.

“I have enjoyed working with the student services team these last two years, and I look forward to continuing to be involved in the lives our students as we go forward. It’s a privilege to be part of the Kettering College family,” said Mahn.

Moretta replaces former director of alumni relations Cheryl Kennison, who left in early spring to become director of marketing and public relations at Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. A search is underway for a new associate director of student life and residence hall.
