years this scholarship has been awarded, Lucas is the third Kettering College recipient.

The Anne Jones Educational Student Scholarship program was established in 2006 in recognition of the many contributions made to the SVU and the vascular ultrasound profession by Anne Jones, former SVU president. The SVU awards one outstanding vascular ultrasound student annually with a scholarship for $1,250. Applicants are judged based on their academic grade-point average, career goals, a written essay, recommendations, extracurricular activities and financial need.

“It is a true tribute to the college’s administration, faculty and students that, in three of the six years that SVU has awarded the Anne Jones Scholarship, the recipient has been from Kettering College. It’s truly amazing, when you consider the number of ultrasound schools out there,” said Steve Haracznak, SVU executive director.

In 2006, Alison Beam was the first Kettering College sonography student to be named co-winner of the scholarship, while Karen Brown was the second Kettering recipient in 2009.
