Kettering College Respiratory Care Program Receives Award for Sixth Consecutive Year

Kettering, Ohio, June 22, 2020 – Kettering College’s Respiratory Care Program received the Distinguished Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credentialing Success Award from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) for the sixth consecutive year. 

This award is presented as part of CoARC’s continued efforts to value the RRT credential as a standard of professional achievement. From a program effectiveness perspective, the CoARC views the RRT credential as a measure of the program’s success in inspiring its graduates to achieve their highest educational and professional aspirations.

The program must have three or more years of outcomes data, they must hold accreditation without a progress report; document RRT credentialing success of 90% or above, and they must meet or exceed established CoARC thresholds for CRT credentialing success, retention, on-time graduation rate, and overall employer and graduate satisfaction.

“We would like to thank the CoARC board for recognizing the efforts of the students, faculty, staff, and leadership of Kettering College’s Respiratory Care program,” said Dr. Scott Bennie, dean for health professions, graduate programs, and institutional effectiveness. “This phenomenal program, provided in a faith-focused, mission-minded environment, truly prepares our graduates to succeed in the provision of respiratory care in a caring and Christian manner.”

Respiratory Care is one of the most rapidly growing and challenging specialty areas in the health science field. Kettering College’s Respiratory Care Program is an accelerated 3-year bachelor’s degree. The program reports it has a 93% job placement rate, as well as a 96% pass rate on the Registered Respiratory Therapist credentialing exams.
