Bead for Life at Kettering College
The Kettering College community has helped to support the organization Bead for Life and have raised more than $25,000 for a group that helps to lift (mostly) women out of poverty in Uganda “one bead at a time.”
They do this through the sale of handmade beaded jewelry as well as other hand crafted products.
Today from 9 am -12 pm by the fireplace, Jill Evans will have items for sale. Payment for this sale is different from past sales – You may pay by cash, check, Venmo, or Zelle, no credit cards.
All the jewelry begins with recycled paper. The beaders form the paper into beads that are then strung into necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. The last step is the cover them with a protective coating that will make them last indefinitely.
If you miss the window today, you can stop by Jill Evans’ office, call or email her.
These jewelry pieces make for great Christmas gifts!
