The following grade scale will be used in all Radiologic Technology courses with the prefix of RTCA:

A                     95 – 100

A-                    90 – 94

B+                   87 – 89

B                     84 – 86

B-                    80 – 83

C+                   77 – 79

C                     75 – 76 (minimum passing grade)

C-                    70 – 74

D                     60 – 69

F                      59 and below

Note:  Below 75% is a failing grade in a professional (RTCA) course.  In addition, a minimum grade of “C” must be earned in all coursework—professional and non-professional (Arts and Science)—must be maintained.

If circumstances warrant, the student may be granted a period of time longer than five semesters to complete the clinical competencies. • All hospital sites afford the student the same types of clinical experiences; i.e., GI, GU, surgery, trauma/evenings, semi-special procedures, portable, etc.
• Semesters 1 and 2 will be at the same clinical site. The student will go to a different site for semester 3 and remain at that site for the duration of the clinical experience.
• Students are responsible for providing their own transportation. Call-offs and tardies due to lack of reliable transportation may affect the clinical grade and result in clinical probation or dismissal from the program.

By the end of the program, the student will have had a wide variety of clinical experience that parallels the classroom training and will enable them to demonstrate the required competencies.

The following is a general clinical experience plan for the entire five-semester program.

• At no time may a student exceed 40 scheduled hours per week in total classroom and clinical time.
• At no time may a student be paid while on clinicals.
• At no time should a student work more than 10 scheduled hours per clinical shift.
