Marisa Blahovich RN, MS (N.Ed.) has been licensed as a nurse and has practiced in three different countries. She received her BSN from Faculdade Adventista de Enfermagem, in Sao Paulo, SP Brazil (today known as UNASP). Marisa completed her MS with a focus in Nursing Education from Andrews University, graduating in 2007. She has practiced in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ontario, Canada, North Carolina, and Michigan, prior to moving to Ohio. Blahovich has worked in varied roles throughout her career as a staff nurse in ICU, CCU, Labor and Delivery, Heart Center, Med/Surgical, and Pediatrics. She expanded her career by taking different roles in an acute hospital setting as a charge nurse, preparing for JCAHO accreditation, Staff development, Electronic Medical Records implementation, Risk management, and Quality Improvement. For the past 19 years, Blahovich has been in academia teaching at colleges in Southwestern Ontario focusing on Simulation implementation/coordination, Family Nursing, Growth and Development, Medical-Surgical Nursing, and Clinical supervision. Her professional interests are simulation utilization for mastery learning and student success.Blahovich joined Kettering College in May of 2015 as an Associate Professor, feeling the call to serve at a Christian Institution to share her beliefs and participate in the mission of this institution.
