Propel Ohio 2017 Now Accepting Applications

Propel Ohio, a leadership program that promotes civic engagement, is now accepting applications for the Collegiate Leadership Summit 2017. The application deadline is Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

Propel Ohio 2017 will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017, at The University of Akron. It will actively engage college students on issues that affect childhood poverty, including food security, inequities in education, and homelessness. US Senator Sherrod Brown, guest speakers, and workshop facilitators will be discussing how college students can tackle these challenges in their Ohio communities. There will be also be an Internship Fair where students will connect with organizations that are addressing childhood poverty all across Ohio. This event hopes to inspire undergraduate students to grow into civic leaders in Ohio.

In addition to Senator Brown, other featured speakers include U.S. Senator Rob Portman; Marian Wright Edelman, Founder and President of the Children’s Defense Fund; and H. Luke Shaefer, co-author of $2.00 a Day: Living on Almost Nothing in America.
