Kettering College Senior Nursing Majors Participate in Meet and Greet with Kettering Health Network Nursing Managers
On Friday, March 24, 2017, about 50 senior nursing students from Kettering College participated in a meet and greet with Kettering Health Network nursing managers.
Before the meet and greet, students had the opportunity to work on their resumes with Ben Hotelling, the Career Services Director at Kettering College to prepare for this event. Hotelling has been creating a direct pipeline between Kettering College graduates to available jobs within Kettering Health Network.
“It was wonderful to meet all the students [who stopped by my booth], they were all eager and professional,” said Melissa Green, the nursing manager at Grandview Medical Center for the surgical intensive care unit (SICU) and the medical intensive care unit (MICU). “I was very impressed.”
“The event isn’t just about our students or our facilities—it’s about patients that need care, how we connect our students to those patients, to receive care,” said Nate Brandstater, president of Kettering College. “This event between Kettering Health Network and Kettering College nursing seniors is a perfect illustration of the amazing collaboration between our two entities. Our students are showing their best and our nursing managers are excited they get their first crack at our best and brightest students.”
