2016 Spring into Health 5K a success – Kettering College gearing up for 2017 5k event
More than 500 runners and walkers turned up for the eighth annual Spring into Health 5K in April, 2016, raising more than $10,000 for Good Neighbor House and the physician assistant department’s student professional development fund. In July 2016, students in the physician assistant department, who have been the primary organizers of the event since its start, awarded Good Neighbor House staff with a donation as a result of this race.
Victor Brown, Dean for Enrollment and Student Life, said he was impressed with the turnout in spite of the cold weather. “Over the years, this event has grown,” Brown said, “We hope the number of participants will continue to grow so that we will be able to donate even more in the future.”
The 2017 5K event will be held on April 9. Registration will open in November.
Good Neighbor House, a collaborative endeavor of eight Dayton-area Seventh-day Adventist churches, provides health, dental and vision services as well as clothing, food and household items to those in need.
