Kettering College Sponsors Free Concert Featuring Ginny Owens

Kettering, Ohio (Sept. 14):  The Kettering College of Medical Arts Office of Spiritual Life andKettering Seventh-day Adventist Church welcome Christian recording artist Ginny Owens to Dayton for a free concert on Friday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place at Kettering Adventist Church, located at 3939 Stonebridge Rd. in Kettering. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome. A freewill offering will be collected.

Despite being blind from the age of three, Owens has had a successful music career since being discovered by a Nashville label in the late-1990s. Since her 1999 debut album release, Without Condition, Owens has sold nearly one million records and performed more than 1500 concerts, including sets at prestigious events like Lilith Fair, the Sundance Film Festival and the White House. Garnering honors such as the Dove awards for New Artist of the Year in 2000 and Inspirational Song of the Year in 2001, Owens’ music has found its way to the top of the radio charts and into scenes in television shows.

Owens recently launched her own production company, ChickPower Music, which serves as an umbrella for her record label, publishing company and music education work. She currently spends time each week teaching and mentoring songwriters at her alma mater, Belmont University, in Nashville, while continuing to write, produce and perform her own material.
