Kettering College Career Services Holds Monthly Hiring Event for Students
One of the many advantages of being a Kettering College student is our partnership with Kettering Health. This affiliation supports our students by giving them access to the latest medical technology and immersing them in a real healthcare environment.
Kettering Health (KH) Human Resources (HR) also teams up with Kettering College, giving our students a head start to their professional careers. The KH HR team regularly visits campus to communicate job opportunities to students and often employ them before they graduate. These positions are open to eligible, qualified students and can turn into long-term careers after graduation.
Since 2019, nearly 70% of our graduating nursing students have accepted employment in Kettering Health each year. This partnership is ongoing, and students know when representatives from the KH HR team will be on campus to discuss opportunities.
Ashley Neu, Director of Career Services & Student Development, explains, “Once a month, Rachel Konop, KH HR Talent Acquisitionist, is on campus to answer any questions students may have about the hiring process and discuss what they can expect as employees of Kettering Health. In addition to her visits each month, Rachel works closely with the Office of Career Services in planning hiring events, job fairs, and future employment initiatives. This partnership is just one of the many ways we work to ensure our students are set up for success and ready to take on their professional careers.”
The KH HR team recently held an all-day hiring event on campus in the Student Affairs office. Their focus for this event was to hire nursing assistants, a job which can be held by current students. They report the day was full and many successful connections were made.
Neu emphasizes how important this collaboration is with KH HR and that their regular visits keep our students informed of hiring opportunities. She says, “The Office of Career Services partners with KH HR to help ensure our students are aware of the different career opportunities that are available to them and make the application/hiring process as smooth as possible.”
