Kettering College Announces New Respiratory Care Program Director
August 31, Kettering, Ohio–Alisa French recently became the new Program Director of the Respiratory Care program at Kettering College. French had served as a faculty member in the Respiratory Care department since 2005.
French received her Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy in 1981 from Kettering College. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business from Wright State University in June of 1995 and then received her Master of Business Administration in Management in 1998 from Wright State University. She previously worked at Dayton Children’s Hospital as a health promotion specialist and a registered respiratory therapist. In her role as a health promotion specialist, she directed strategic planning and obtained grant funding for health promotion programs. In her role as a respiratory therapist, she worked as a Neo Ped specialist working in Critical Care, performing diagnostic evaluations, emergency and long-term treatment of patients, and mentored new employees.
She joined Kettering College as a faculty member in 2005, where she has also been teaching the online program. She is a former board member of the Ohio Society of Respiratory Care and has published articles and works in the American Association for Respiratory Care. Her passion for service and love for babies is seen in her approach to teaching her classes.
“I am most excited about leading the Respiratory Care program to ensure it continues to thrive with increases in enrollment, where students know they are cared for,” French said. “I love collaborating with the dedicated faculty and staff at the College, Kettering Health Network, and the Dayton community to create learning experiences that inspire students to become excellent respiratory therapists.”
