Physician Assistant as a Career
The Role of the Physician Assistant (PA)
PAs are medical professionals who are certified nationally and licensed within a state to practice medicine. PAs are in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as in U.S. territories. PAs have been part of the healthcare team in American medicine for more than 50 years. Educated at the graduate level as medical generalists, PAs practice in every medical and surgical specialty and setting. PAs are unique in that they can change medical specialties without a need for additional formal education or training. -2021 AAPA Salary Report
